Tencent Releases HY-Motion: Text-to-3D Animation
Tencent unveils HY-Motion, an innovative AI system that generates high-quality 3D character animations directly from text descriptions, advancing
Someone found that Tencent just dropped HY-Motion 1.0, a text-to-3D animation model that’s actually pretty solid. Type in plain English and it spits out character animations ready for game engines or Blender.
The model covers 200+ motion categories - walking, fighting, dancing, whatever. Uses 1 billion parameters with flow matching, which apparently makes the movements look way more natural than older diffusion models.

Interesting part is they trained it with reinforcement learning on top of the usual fine-tuning, so it actually follows instructions better instead of just generating generic animations. The exported files work straight in standard 3D pipelines without conversion headaches.
Worth checking out if you’re tired of keyframing everything manually.
